SOM MBA Orientation Day 3: Industry Insights and Professional Readiness
12 August 2026 marked another enriching day of learning and discovery for the MBA 2026 cohort at Presidency School of Management (SOM), Presidency University.
The day began with an engaging Industry Expectations and Career Planning session featuring distinguished representatives from KASSIA (Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association):

The interaction provided students with valuable insights into industry expectations, the MSME ecosystem, entrepreneurship and the skills required to navigate the world of business.
The day then turned inward with the inspiring session “The Best Project You Will Ever Work On Is You” by Mr P. Chandramohan, Life Coach, Mentor and Trainer. The session encouraged students to reflect on themselves, recognise their strengths and take ownership of their personal growth and future.
Students then explored Digital Tools for MBAs with Dr Arijit Roy and Dr Sonal Manik Gursahani, gaining exposure to digital tools that can support learning, productivity and managerial effectiveness.
The focus on professional development continued with Etiquette and Grooming, facilitated by Dr Aurobindo Kiriyakere and Dr Mohan Cherian. The session highlighted the importance of professional presence, confidence and workplace etiquette.
The day concluded with a Bridge Session on Accounting by Dr Anitha S. Yadav and Dr K. Krishna Kumar, helping students strengthen the foundational knowledge required for their MBA journey.
From understanding industry expectations to investing in oneself, embracing digital tools and building professional confidence, Day 3 reflected SOM’s holistic approach to management education.
Because becoming a successful manager begins long before entering the boardroom — it begins with understanding the industry, developing yourself and staying ready to learn.
