SOM Hosts ‘Metaverse Battle’ on Future HR Practices

26-March-2026

The HR Club of the School of Management successfully organised an engaging and innovative event titled “Metaverse Battle” on 26 March 2026. The event was held at E Block, Seminar Hall 4, and was conducted for MBA second-year students from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm. It brought together students to explore forward-thinking ideas at the intersection of human resources and emerging virtual technologies.

The central theme of the event revolved around the concept of the metaverse—an immersive virtual ecosystem that integrates physical and digital realities through technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and the internet. As part of the activity, students were tasked with creating videos incorporating AI, VR, and AR to design a futuristic workplace set in the year 2075. These projects focused on envisioning advanced HR practices, including future-oriented HR policies, innovative talent acquisition strategies, onboarding processes, and virtual orientation frameworks.

“Metaverse Battle” proved to be both insightful and highly interactive, significantly enhancing students’ understanding of contemporary HR practices and the ongoing digital transformation in the workplace. The event was coordinated by Dr A. Abirami, Associate Professor, whose guidance was instrumental in ensuring its smooth and successful execution.
