14-October-2026

MBA students of the Presidency School of Management attended an engaging guest lecture on the Consumer Protection Act, 2019: A Business Perspective, delivered by Ms Divyashree, Advocate, DS Associates, Bengaluru, on 14 October 2026.

The session focused on the six fundamental consumer rights and their relevance to ethical business practices, legal compliance and consumer welfare. Through an analysis of judicial cases involving e-commerce, insurance claims, medical negligence and overcharging, students gained valuable insights into the practical application of consumer protection law. The lecture connected legal concepts with real-world business scenarios, encouraging critical thinking, legal awareness and responsible managerial decision-making.

We extend our sincere thanks to Ms Divyashree C for sharing her expertise and inspiring our students to deepen their understanding of consumer law.

The event was coordinated by Dr R. Sethumadhavan, Associate Professor, School of Management, and Dr B. Anupama, Assistant Professor, School of Management. We also express our heartfelt gratitude to Dr Sagi Srilalitha Girija Kumari, Dean, Presidency School of Management, for her unwavering support and encouragement in making the programme a success.
