SoLAS Students Take Learning Beyond the Classroom at MAP Bengaluru
Learning came alive beyond the classroom as students from the Presidency School of Liberal Arts & Sciences (SoLAS)visited the Museum of Art & Photography (MAP), Bengaluru, for an immersive day of art, culture and discovery.
The excursion began with students and faculty assembling at the Canopy, followed by a group photograph before everyone set off for MAP. What followed was a day filled with curiosity, conversations and plenty of memorable moments.
At MAP, students explored the museum across its four floors, discovering an extensive range of artworks, photographs and visual narratives. As one of Bengaluru’s leading spaces dedicated to art and photography, MAP brings together perse works that offer fascinating perspectives on India’s artistic, cultural and social history.
What made the visit particularly engaging was the students’ enthusiasm throughout the experience. They interacted with the museum guides, asked questions, shared observations and took the time to understand the stories and ideas behind the works on display. From moving through the galleries to pausing for conversations and reflections, students experienced the museum with genuine curiosity.
The visit also reflected the spirit of learning that SoLAS encourages — being open to new perspectives, asking questions and finding meaning beyond textbooks. Students were responsible and respectful throughout the excursion while making the most of the opportunity to explore, learn and simply enjoy the day together.
For the students, the excursion was more than a museum visit. It was a chance to see, question, discuss and experience art in a completely different way — turning a regular day into a joyful learning experience filled with new ideas and lasting memories.
