SOLAS Signs MoU with Shankar IAS Academy
Presidency University, Bengaluru, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shankar IAS Academy on 2 July 2026, marking the beginning of a significant academic collaboration aimed at creating meaningful opportunities for students in the field of civil services preparation and career guidance.
The MoU was signed by Dr Raja P., IAS, on behalf of Shankar IAS Academy. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Honourable Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr Vidya Shankar Shetty; Dr Pritha Sanyal, Head, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences; Ms Divya Malhotra, DGM – Admissions; Mr Premanand, representative of Shankar IAS Academy; and Dr Yashavantha T. S., Coordinator – Outreach, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Following the signing ceremony, Dr Raja P., IAS, addressed students of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences as part of the Orientation Programme. In his session, he spoke about various career pathways, with a special focus on the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination. He highlighted the importance of clarity, discipline, reading habits, social awareness, and sustained preparation for students aspiring to enter public service.
The session proved highly beneficial for newly admitted students, introducing them to the opportunities available in civil services and public administration. It also highlighted the role of liberal arts education in developing critical thinking, ethical awareness, administrative imagination, and civic responsibility — all essential qualities for careers in governance and public service.
The collaboration between Presidency University and Shankar IAS Academy is expected to provide students with structured academic support, expert guidance, orientation sessions, and exposure to civil services preparation. This initiative will further strengthen the academic and career development ecosystem of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences while supporting students who aspire to contribute meaningfully to society through public administration and related fields.
Overall, the MoU signing ceremony marked an important step towards building institutional partnerships that enhance student opportunities, academic enrichment, and career readiness.
