SOLAS Organises Mental Health Awareness Programme
The Mental Health Awareness Programme was organised by SOLAS, Department of Psychology, on 13 October 2026 in the D Block corridor from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm. The programme aimed to promote awareness of mental health and psychological well-being through interactive, student-led activities.
The programme commenced with an inaugural session led by Dr Pritha Sanyal, Head of the Department, followed by addresses from Dr Tripti Singh, Psychology Faculty Coordinator, and Dr Amit Kumar, Event Coordinator.
As part of the programme, students organised 14 stalls featuring psychological experiments, assessments, stress-management techniques, interactive games, creative displays and other engaging activities. These included the Stroop Test, Habit Interference Experiment, Stress Level Assessment, Oxford Happiness Questionnaire, Signal Detection, Emotional Freedom Technique, grounding techniques and an anti-anxiety audio laboratory.
The stalls provided participants with opportunities to engage with psychological concepts and explore themes related to attention, emotional well-being, stress, happiness and coping strategies. The activities also encouraged teamwork, creativity, communication and experiential learning among students.
Overall, the programme served as a platform to promote mental health awareness and encourage greater engagement with psychological well-being across the campus community.
