SOLAS Hosts Workshop on Healthy and High-Performing Organisations
The Department of Psychology, Presidency School of Liberal Arts & Sciences, organised an offline academic workshop titled “Building Healthy and High-Performing Organisations: Leadership, Employee Well-being, and Talent Management” on 27 August 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Seminar Hall 3. The session was delivered by Dr Michael J. Mustafa, Associate Professor, University of Nottingham Malaysia, and was attended by 80 students and 10 faculty members. The workshop provided participants with an academic and applied perspective on building healthy and high-performing organisations, with a focus on the interconnected roles of leadership, employee well-being and talent management.
The session explored key themes including building healthy and high-performing organisations, the role of leadership in shaping organisational culture and performance, employee well-being in contemporary workplaces, talent management and human capital development, and the relationship between leadership, well-being and organisational performance. Dr Michael J. Mustafa shared perspectives on creating organisational environments that support both employee well-being and sustainable performance, drawing on concepts from organisational and applied psychology.
The workshop provided participants with an integrated understanding of how leadership, employee well-being and talent management contribute to healthy and high-performing organisations. It encouraged students to connect theoretical concepts with contemporary workplace practices and highlighted the importance of balancing organisational performance with employee well-being. The programme also provided an opportunity for academic engagement with an international faculty member and may support future learning, discussion and collaborative initiatives in organisational behaviour, leadership, employee well-being and talent development.
