SOLAS Hosts FDP on Experiential Learning Strategies
Faculty Development Programme on Experiential Learning Strategies for Multidisciplinary Teaching
Day 2: 25 February 2026
Theme: Beyond Chalk and Talk – Experiential Learning Strategies in the 21st Century
The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences (SOLAS) proudly hosted a dynamic and thought-provoking Faculty Development Programme session led by Dr Saba Inamdar. The programme was designed to strengthen contemporary pedagogical practices and encourage meaningful academic reflection among faculty members.
The session was distinctly activity-driven, engaging and reflective, fostering a vibrant academic environment where ideas were not merely discussed but actively experienced. Through structured tasks, collaborative exercises and guided reflections, participants critically examined their teaching approaches and explored ways to reimagine classroom practices in response to evolving educational needs.
A key highlight of the session was the emphasis on redefining classroom design and planning lessons that move beyond theoretical delivery towards the practical application of knowledge. The hands-on components enabled faculty members to translate conceptual insights into actionable teaching strategies that can be effectively implemented across diverse learning contexts.
The reflective depth of the session encouraged educators to move beyond routine instruction and adopt a more intentional, learner-centred approach to teaching. The discussions were stimulating, solution-oriented and closely aligned with the demands of contemporary higher education.
The programme reaffirmed SOLAS’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous professional development, equipping faculty with innovative tools to enhance multidisciplinary teaching practices.
