SOLAS Hosts Career Exploration Initiative for NCFE-Indiranagar Students
On 11 June 2026, the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences (SOLAS) at Presidency University welcomed enthusiastic students from Grades 9 and 10 of NCFE School, Indiranagar, for a thoughtfully curated Career Exploration Initiative. Designed to inspire, inform and broaden horizons, the programme offered students an engaging introduction to perse fields of study and personal development.
The day commenced with an address by Dr Pritha Sanyal, Head of the Department, whose insightful and encouraging words set the tone for the sessions that followed. She invited students to explore new possibilities, embrace their aspirations and approach the future with confidence.
The programme featured four parallel sessions, each offering a unique learning experience:
Gamified Learning through Language Lab Activities
Through interactive games and collaborative challenges, students explored the power of communication and language. The session highlighted how effective communication serves not only as a skill but also as a tool for connection, creativity and self-expression.
Conversation Café
Students were encouraged to reflect on their personal journeys by selecting five objects that represented significant aspects of their lives. These reflections formed the basis of conversations inspired by the prompt, "What If Walls Could Speak?" The activity created a welcoming space for storytelling, self-expression and meaningful dialogue, allowing students to share their experiences and perspectives with confidence.
Theatre Workshop: Stage Presence and Performance
This dynamic session introduced students to the fundamentals of performance and public speaking. Through theatre-based activities, they explored body language, voice modulation and stage presence, discovering that confidence often grows through participation and practice.
Experiencing Psychology
Students were introduced to key concepts in psychology, encouraging them to better understand themselves and others. The session fostered self-awareness, empathy and emotional intelligence, offering valuable insights into human behaviour and personal growth.
The programme concluded with a Reflection and Sharing session, where students discussed their experiences, key takeaways and moments that resonated most with them throughout the day.
Witnessing young minds engage with new ideas, develop confidence and discover potential pathways for the future was a rewarding experience for all involved. SOLAS extends its sincere thanks to NCFE School, Indiranagar, for this meaningful collaboration and to the faculty members whose dedication made the initiative a memorable success.
We look forward to many more opportunities to inspire and empower the next generation of learners.
