The Presidency School of Liberal Arts and Sciences (PSoLAS), Presidency University, Bengaluru, formally welcomed the incoming batch of BA/B.Sc. Psychology students through the inaugural session of Aurora 2026 held on 18 June 2026. The orientation programme marked the beginning of an enriching academic journey for students and their parents, who were invited to participate in the inaugural proceedings.

 

The event commenced with the reporting and registration of students, followed by a warm welcome note delivered by Dr Premalatha S. The inaugural addresses by Dr Thiruvengdam S.J., Vice Chancellor, Dr Vidya Shankar Shetty, Pro Vice Chancellor, and Dr Venkateswaran S., Registrar, introduced students to the university’s vision of academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development.

 

The sessions throughout the day familiarised students with the academic and institutional ecosystem of Presidency University. Mr Shivakumara, ERP Manager, introduced students to the ERP and IT systems, while Mr Chandrasekhar Devidas Ingle, Controller of Examinations, explained the assessment framework and examination processes.

 

The orientation also highlighted opportunities beyond academics. Ms Kavitha V., Associate Director of Career Services and Industry Connect, spoke about career progression and industry engagement opportunities available to students. Col. Jayaram, Director of Students’ Discipline and Sports, addressed important aspects of discipline, anti-ragging measures, and sports culture within the university.

 

Students were further introduced to the university library and its role in supporting academic growth through an engaging session by Dr Sheshadri K.N., Chief Librarian. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Charitra H.G.

 

The first day of Aurora 2026 successfully created a welcoming and informative environment for the new cohort, offering students and parents a comprehensive understanding of the academic structure, support systems, and opportunities available at PSoLAS.
