SOL Organises Legal Awareness Programme on Sexual Harassment and Drug Abuse
As part of its commitment to promoting legal literacy and social responsibility, the Legal Aid Services Clinic, Presidency School of Law organised a Legal Aid Awareness Programme at Government First Grade College, Gauribidanur, on 10 September 2026.
The programme featured insightful sessions led by distinguished dignitaries: Smt Varalakshmi, Sub-Inspector of Police, Gauribidanur Town Police Station; Dr Venkatachalapathi H.S., Principal of Government First Grade College; and Dr G.M. Mamatha, Head of the Department at Presidency School of Law. They highlighted the importance of legal awareness, with particular emphasis on key legislation, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Bringing real-world legal challenges to life, law students presented engaging skits on sexual harassment and drug awareness, offering practical insights into these pressing social issues.
The programme also featured meaningful discussions and an elocution competition, encouraging students to reflect on the theme ‘Access to Justice for All’ and the transformative role of law in fostering a safer, fairer and more inclusive society.
At Presidency School of Law, we remain committed to nurturing socially conscious legal professionals who uphold the values of justice, equality, ethics and community service
