16-April-2026

The Legal Services Clinic, School of Law, Presidency University, is pleased to announce the commencement of the Legal Aid Awareness Programme – IV. This institutional outreach initiative is designed to foster legal literacy and reinforce social responsibility by engaging with young people on critical legal frameworks and contemporary societal challenges.

Event Schedule:
Date: 16 April 2026
Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Venue: Deeksha Pre-University College (Auditorium)

Thematic Focus:
The programme will provide a comprehensive analysis of two pivotal areas of law and public safety:

  • The POCSO Act: An examination of the legal safeguards and protective measures established for the welfare of children and adolescents.
  • Cybercrime and Digital Security: A briefing on emerging threats, including “digital arrest” protocols, online fraudulent schemes, and the necessary preventive measures for maintaining digital integrity.

Mission and Objectives:
The primary objective of this programme is to advance legal literacy among students, equipping them with the knowledge required to navigate the complexities of the digital age. By bridging the gap between law enforcement, legal professionals, and the student community, the School of Law aims to cultivate informed and vigilant citizens capable of recognising and reporting legal violations effectively.
