The Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee of the School of Law, Presidency University, Bengaluru, organised a Two-Day Mediation Training Workshop 2026 on 14 and 15 October 2026 at the Seminar Hall, F Block, with the participation of 163 students.

Centred on mediation law, practice and career opportunities, the workshop featured three eminent resource persons. Adv. Prasad Subbanna, Senior Mediator and Master Trainer, MCPC, Supreme Court of India, delivered sessions on the Mediation Act, 2023, and facilitative mediation. Adv. Meena Pershad Waghray, Founder of Out of Court and International Mediator, focused on practical negotiation strategies, managing difficult parties and paraphrasing techniques through live simulations. Ms Akshetha Ashok, Co-Founder of SAMA, introduced students to Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) and explored career pathways in mediation.

The workshop received highly encouraging feedback from students, who found the sessions interactive and practice-oriented. Participants particularly appreciated the real-life case studies, paraphrasing activity and insights into mediation as a professional career. They also highlighted how the training enhanced their understanding of active listening, effective communication and conflict resolution. Several students expressed keen interest in participating in future ADR workshops, internships and mediation competitions.
