SOL Hosts Industry Expert Session on ADR and IBC

The School of Law, Presidency University, hosted an insightful industry expert session on “ADR and IBC – Shared Tapestry on Commercial Dispute Resolution” on 17 April 2026 for third- and fourth-year students. The session was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Sirohi from the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.

 

Prof. Sirohi introduced students to the evolving intersection of law, policy, and corporate governance, while emphasizing the growing relevance of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms such as mediation and arbitration, alongside the expanding domain of insolvency. He highlighted emerging career pathways beyond traditional litigation and discussed the practical distinctions, applications, and advantages of mediation, arbitration, and insolvency practice.

 

The interactive session encouraged students to reflect on their career aspirations and adapt to the changing legal landscape. With real-world insights and a forward-looking perspective, the session inspired participants to develop interdisciplinary skills and contribute meaningfully to efficient and modern dispute resolution.
