SOL Advances Legal Literacy through Outreach Initiative

16-April-2026

The School of Law (SOL), Presidency University, through its Legal Services Clinic, organised a community outreach programme on 16 April 2026 at Deeksha PU College, Vidyanagar, aimed at enhancing legal awareness among pre-university students. The initiative focused on bridging the gap between academic learning and societal engagement by equipping students with essential legal knowledge and practical insights. The session was graced by Inspector Anand (Chief Guest, Chikkajala Police Station) and Advocate Ravi Mavinkunte (Former President, Doddaballapura Advocates Association), who shared valuable perspectives on the legal profession and real-world applications of law.

A key highlight of the programme was the student-led advocacy through impactful skits on the POCSO Act and cyber trafficking, effectively simplifying complex legal concepts and raising awareness about digital safety and fundamental rights. The interactive and engaging format enabled participants to better understand legal frameworks and their relevance in everyday life. The outreach initiative successfully translated legal knowledge into actionable awareness, reinforcing the Legal Services Clinic’s commitment to fostering socially responsible and legally informed citizens while extending the reach of justice to the wider community.
