SOIS Hosts PROMPTWARS × GEN AI Club to Foster Generative AI Innovation

PROMPTWARS was successfully organised by the GEN AI Club, Presidency School of Information Science (SOIS), Presidency University, Bengaluru, on 22 September 2026. The student-focused Generative AI initiative brought together more than 250 students from various technology-oriented schools across the University. The event was designed to encourage creativity, experimentation, the practical application of Generative AI, and effective Prompt Engineering.

 

Description of the Event

 

PROMPTWARS was more than a conventional competition; it provided students with a platform to experiment with Generative AI, explore innovative ideas, solve problems creatively, and transform concepts into AI-based solutions. The programme commenced with the inauguration, followed by an introduction to PROMPTWARS, a special address by the guest, the GEN AI Club Core Committee badge ceremony, and an orientation on the competition rules and regulations.

 

Participants then engaged in the challenge, applying Prompt Engineering, Generative AI tools, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills to develop and present AI-based ideas and solutions. The event concluded with the presentation phase and the felicitation of the winners.

 

Resource Person

 

Mr Sourav Mishra, Business Architect, Co-Founder, ProGenics Global Consultants Pvt. Ltd., and Co-Founder & Promoter Director, Logicarts, served as the distinguished guest and resource person. With over 15 years of industry experience in logistics, supply chain management, sales strategy, business expansion, and technology-driven business solutions, he shared valuable industry perspectives and encouraged students to explore innovation and emerging technologies.

Key Outcomes

 

The event provided participants with practical exposure to Generative AI and encouraged them to approach problems with creativity and innovation. Students strengthened their understanding of Generative AI and Prompt Engineering, experimented with AI tools and techniques, developed creative and analytical problem-solving abilities, and gained experience in transforming ideas into AI-based solutions. The programme also enhanced students’ presentation and communication skills while encouraging innovation, collaboration, and technology-driven thinking.

(Club President), the student coordinators, and the entire GEN AI Club team for their valuable contributions to the event.

 

The organisers also acknowledge Hack2Skill for its sponsorship support and contribution towards the cash prizes. The initiative provided students with a meaningful platform to explore and showcase their capabilities in Generative AI and Prompt Engineering.

 

Participant Feedback

 

Participant feedback reflected that the event was engaging, informative, and valuable. Attendees particularly appreciated the practical, hands-on approach to Generative AI, Google AI tools, and Prompt Engineering. Participants highlighted improvements in problem-solving, creativity, prompt iteration, time management, and their ability to develop real-world AI applications. First-time hackathon participants and non-technical participants also reported increased confidence and technical growth.

 

Conclusion

 

PROMPTWARS × GEN AI CLUB successfully created an environment where students could experiment, innovate, and apply Generative AI to practical challenges. By combining Prompt Engineering, creative problem-solving, AI tools, and presentation skills, the event contributed to strengthening a culture of innovation and technology-driven learning at Presidency University.
