SOIS Hosts Hands-on Workshop on LLMs and AI Agents Using NVIDIA GPUs
Presidency School of Information Science, Presidency University, Bengaluru, successfully conducted a hands-on technical workshop titled ‘Working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Building AI Agents Using NVIDIA GPUs’ on 23 October 2026.
The workshop explored key areas of contemporary artificial intelligence (AI), including Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, AI agents and GPU-accelerated computing. It provided participants with practical exposure to emerging AI technologies and their applications, highlighting the role of intelligent systems and accelerated computing in developing AI-powered solutions.
The session was led by Mr Sachit Bhardwaj, Software Engineer and AI Researcher at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Drawing on his professional experience, he shared industry perspectives and practical insights into developing AI-driven applications, helping participants connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr R. Mahalakshmi, Dean, and Dr Renukadevi M., Head of the Department (HoD). The workshop was coordinated by Mr Faizan Anwar Khan, Assistant Professor, with support from the organising committee.
The workshop highlighted the growing significance of LLMs in language-based applications, Generative AI in content creation, AI agents in multi-step task execution, and NVIDIA GPU technologies in accelerating computationally intensive AI workloads. Together, these technologies provide an important foundation for developing intelligent applications across research, software development, automation and other domains.
The programme provided a valuable platform for enhancing technical knowledge, encouraging hands-on learning and fostering industry–academia collaboration in artificial intelligence. Its successful completion reflects the School’s continued commitment to promoting innovation, facilitating industry-relevant learning and equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to engage with emerging technologies.
Through initiatives of this kind, the School continues to strengthen its focus on experiential learning and prepare students to contribute meaningfully to the evolving fields of artificial intelligence and advanced computing.
