SOD Visit to Vimor Museum Enriches Textile Learning Experience

The visit to the Vimor Museum of Living Textiles offered fashion design students a holistic and enriching learning experience, blending technical knowledge with cultural awareness and sustainability insights. Guided by the vision of Ms Pavithra Muddaya, the museum stands as a significant initiative in preserving India’s handloom heritage while inspiring future designers to carry these traditions forward.

 

The experience played a vital role in enhancing students’ academic and creative understanding, providing deeper insights into textile heritage and its relevance in contemporary design practices.

 

With 26 students in attendance, the session encouraged active engagement through interactive discussions, Q&A sessions and networking opportunities. Participants shared highly positive feedback, particularly appreciating the practical insights relevant to their capstone projects and internship preparation.
