Presidency School of Commerce (SOC), Presidency University, inaugurated Deeksharambh 2026 on 3 July 2026, warmly welcoming the incoming BBA Batch of 2026 as they embarked on a journey of academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development.

 

The inaugural ceremony began with an invocation, a welcome dance, and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising the start of a transformative learning experience founded on knowledge, values, and aspiration.

 

The event featured inspiring addresses by the University's distinguished leadership. Dr Padmavathi M., Dean, School of Commerce, welcomed the students and their parents, highlighting the importance of academic excellence, discipline, and holistic growth. Dr Dinesh Nilkant, Provost, delivered the inaugural address, encouraging students to embrace learning with curiosity, confidence, and commitment. Dr Venkateswaran S., Registrar, shared valuable insights into the University's academic ecosystem, policies, and student responsibilities. Dr Thiruvengadam S. J., Vice Chancellor, delivered the presidential address, inspiring students to pursue excellence, innovation, leadership, and lifelong learning.

 

A key highlight of the programme was the orientation address by the Chief Guest, Dr Prashanth P. K. M. (IFS), Managing Director, Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited, Bengaluru. He shared valuable perspectives on leadership, public service, and the evolving corporate landscape, motivating students to cultivate the skills, values, and resilience required to become future-ready professionals.

 

The inaugural function concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Saba Inamdar, Head of Department (In-charge).

 

The orientation programme also introduced students and parents to various aspects of university life, including academic regulations, examination processes, student engagement initiatives, placement and internship opportunities, and avenues for holistic development through clubs, sports, NCC, and NSS. The sessions provided a comprehensive overview of the vibrant academic and co-curricular ecosystem at Presidency University.
