Presidency School of Commerce, Presidency University, Bengaluru, successfully organised a Master Class titled “Finance Meets Business: Turning Financial KPIs into Strategic Decisions” on 1 September 2026 at Seminar Hall-2, F-Block. The session was coordinated by Dr Samiya Mubeen.

 

The Master Class was organised to provide students with practical insights into the role of financial performance indicators in business decision-making and strategic management. The session was conducted under the guidance of Dr M Padmavathi, Dean, PSC; Dr Poornima Karthikeyan, Associate Professor and HoD, PSOC; and Dr Saba Inamdar, Assistant Professor and HoD, PSOC.

 

The session was delivered by Mr Nandakumar Eswaran, Manager – P&L Controller, Bosch India Ltd, who brought valuable industry experience and practical perspectives to the classroom. The Master Class focused on how organisations use financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate business performance, identify opportunities and challenges, and make informed strategic decisions.

 

Through industry-oriented discussions and real-world business perspectives, students gained an understanding of the connection between financial analysis and business strategy. The session highlighted the importance of interpreting financial information beyond numbers and using KPIs as strategic tools to improve profitability, operational efficiency, resource allocation and overall organisational performance.

 

The interactive nature of the session encouraged students to relate their academic knowledge of finance to contemporary corporate practices. It also helped them appreciate the significance of financial decision-making in areas such as performance evaluation, cost management, profitability analysis, budgeting and business planning.

 

The Master Class served as an effective platform for industry–academia interaction, enabling students to gain exposure to professional practices and expectations in the corporate environment. The insights shared by the resource person enhanced students’ understanding of how finance professionals contribute to broader business decisions.
