SOC Industry Readiness Programme: "Industry Expectations vs Student Preparation"
Presidency School of Commerce organised an Industry Readiness Programme on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, as part of its continuous efforts to strengthen student placement readiness and employability.
The programme focused on the theme “Industry Expectations vs Student Preparation”, emphasising the need to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the competencies expected by the corporate world. The session aimed to equip students with practical perspectives on professional behavior, skill development, and career preparedness.
The session was delivered by Dr. Syed Abid Hussain, Professor, Presidency School of Commerce, who shared valuable insights drawn from academic experience and industry exposure. His discussion provided students with clarity on employer expectations, workplace culture, and strategies to enhance their placement prospects.
