SOC Inaugurates EL Fortuna Club with Guest Lecture and Quiz

15-October-2026

Presidency School of Commerce (SOC), Presidency University, Bengaluru, inaugurated the EL Fortuna Club on 15 October 2026 with an engaging programme featuring a guest lecture, an interactive quiz and a badging ceremony for club members.

The highlight of the event was a guest lecture titled ‘Purpose-Driven Marketing vs Consumer Scepticism’, delivered by Prof. of Practice Baktha Sabari Rajan V. The session explored the growing importance of authenticity, transparency and accountability in corporate purpose and marketing communication.

The lecture examined how organisations can build lasting consumer trust by ensuring that their marketing claims align with their actual business practices. Key topics included avoiding purpose-washing, understanding the expectations of Generation Z and Millennial consumers, maintaining supply chain integrity, aligning corporate governance with external communication, and mitigating brand reputation risks.

The programme also featured an interactive quiz that encouraged students to apply their understanding of marketing concepts to contemporary business challenges. A badging ceremony recognised EL Fortuna Club members and marked their association with the club’s learning and professional development initiatives.

The event was coordinated by Dr Syed Abid Hussain, Professor, Presidency School of Commerce, with the aim of fostering experiential learning, promoting awareness of ethical marketing practices and encouraging student engagement with emerging industry trends.

The inauguration marked a significant step towards inspiring future marketing professionals to champion responsible business practices and build authentic, value-driven relationships between organisations and consumers.
