SOC Hosts National-Level Student Conference on Innovation & Social Impact
The Presidency School of Commerce (PSoC), Presidency University, Bengaluru, successfully organised a National-Level Student Conference on “Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Social Impact towards Viksit Bharat 2047” on 17 April 2026 at Seminar Hall 1, F Block. The conference aimed to cultivate a strong research culture among students, encourage innovative thinking and address real-world challenges aligned with the vision of a developed India by 2047. The inaugural session was led by Mr Satheeshkumar Dhandapani, Associate Director, Deloitte India, in the presence of Dr S J Thiruvengadam, Vice Chancellor In-Charge; Dr Vidya Shankar Shetty, Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr Venkateswaran S, Registrar; Dr M Padmavathi, Associate Dean, PSoC; and Dr Saba Inamdar and Dr Poornima Karthikeyan, Heads of the Department. The session highlighted the importance of innovation, entrepreneurship and social responsibility in shaping the nation’s future.
The conference featured four technical sessions covering Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Digital Technologies, Social Innovation and Sustainability. A total of 180 students actively presented research papers, creating a vibrant platform for academic engagement, interdisciplinary learning and critical discussion. Participants received valuable feedback from academicians and experts, strengthening their research and presentation skills. The event concluded with a valedictory session delivered by Dr Vidya Shankar Shetty, who also distributed certificates to participants. Outstanding contributions were recognised through Best Paper and Best Presentation awards, celebrating excellence in student research. Overall, the conference served as a significant platform for nurturing future-ready, innovative and socially responsible individuals, contributing meaningfully to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
