SOC Hosts Guest Lecture on the Future of Finance Careers in the Age of AI
The Presidency School of Commerce, Presidency University, Bengaluru, successfully organised a Guest Lecture on “The Future of Finance Careers in the Age of AI” on 18 August 2026 at Seminar Hall 4, E Block.
The session was delivered by Dr Pratibha K. Verma, TAPMI Bengaluru, and coordinated by Dr Ziliya K. P. and Dr Umme Jahanara. A total of 89 B.Com and BBA Finance students participated in the programme.
The lecture explored the impact of Artificial Intelligence on finance careers, including the automation of routine finance tasks, emerging roles at the intersection of finance and technology, and the technical and non-technical skills required by future finance professionals. Students gained insights into data handling, spreadsheet modelling, Python, SQL, visualisation, professional judgement, communication, and ethical reasoning.
The interactive session and Q&A provided students with practical perspectives on career opportunities, professional certifications, internships, and preparing for entry-level finance roles.
The programme reinforced the Presidency School of Commerce’s commitment to industry-relevant learning and preparing students for the evolving demands of the finance profession in an AI-driven world.
