SoAHS Participates in Mangalore Physiocon 2026

The School of Allied Health Sciences (SoAHS), Presidency University, actively participated in Mangalore Physiocon 2026, an international physiotherapy conference held in Mangaluru on 10 and 11 April 2026. Organised by the South Canara Physiotherapy Teachers Association, the conference brought together nearly 6,000 delegates, including professionals, academicians, and students from across India and abroad. Centred on the theme “Movement is Health – Moving into the Next Era through Technology and Autonomy,” the event focused on advancing physiotherapy practice and education through innovation, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The conference was inaugurated by Dr Sharanprakash R Patil, Honourable Minister for Medical Education, Karnataka, and featured several distinguished dignitaries and experts from the healthcare and academic sectors.

 

The conference included keynote sessions, panel discussions, and workshops addressing the integration of technology such as AI and data analytics in rehabilitation, alongside the importance of patient-centred and ethical healthcare practices. Key discussions highlighted the growing demand for physiotherapists, the role of physiotherapy in managing lifestyle and post-COVID conditions, and the implementation of updated curricula in allied health sciences. Pre- and post-conference workshops covered specialised topics including neuroplasticity, paediatric neurorehabilitation, advanced rehabilitation technologies, and clinical neurophysiology. Academic activities such as paper and poster presentations, as well as quiz competitions, provided valuable learning opportunities. Overall, the event enhanced participants’ knowledge, strengthened professional networks, and reinforced the importance of innovation and compassionate care in modern physiotherapy practice.
