SOAHS Joins Historic Plantation Drive Supporting Guinness World Records Attempt

The School of Allied Health Sciences (SoAHS), Presidency University, actively participated in a large-scale plantation drive held on 27 June 2026 in collaboration with the Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) Cell, Presidency University, as well as United Way Bengaluru and the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA), as part of a Guinness World Records attempt.

 

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 4,000 students, who collectively planted approximately 60,000 saplings, contributing to the development of a five-acre Miyawaki forest. This remarkable initiative reflected the University's commitment to environmental sustainability and ecological conservation.

 

Students and faculty members from the School of Allied Health Sciences enthusiastically took part in the plantation drive, planting more than 90 saplings and demonstrating their dedication to creating a greener and healthier environment. Their active involvement showcased a strong sense of environmental responsibility, teamwork and social commitment.

 

The plantation drive not only raised awareness of the importance of afforestation and biodiversity conservation but also encouraged students to become responsible citizens contributing to a more sustainable future. Through this initiative, participants experienced first-hand the significance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges.
