SoAHS Conducts Session on Upper Limb Anatomy for Clinical Learning
The Presidency School of Allied Health Sciences organised a specialised academic session titled “Upper Limb Anatomy: The Body’s Ultimate Tool” on 26 March 2026 at Seminar Hall 2, F Block. The session was delivered by Dr Jahan Zeb, Professor and Head of the Department of Anatomy at KLE Society’s Institute of Dental Sciences. It aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the structural anatomy of the upper limb, including osteology, myology, neurology, and vascular components, while linking these concepts to functional movements and clinical applications.
The session covered key aspects such as the anatomy of bones including the clavicle, scapula, humerus, radius, and ulna, along with the muscular system and coordinated movements of the upper limb. Special emphasis was placed on the brachial plexus, its clinical relevance, and common neuropathies. The vascular supply of the upper limb was also discussed in detail. A significant highlight was the demonstration of prosected specimens, which enhanced students’ spatial understanding, along with clinical correlations such as fractures, dislocations, and repetitive strain injuries.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from undergraduate physiotherapy students. Overall, the session proved to be highly informative and academically enriching, effectively bridging theoretical knowledge with practical and clinical insights, and reinforcing the institution’s commitment to quality, competency-based education.
