PSOM Hosts Orientation Programme for Freshers
Presidency School of Management hosted its Orientation Programme for the freshers from September 3 to 9, 2025, marking the beginning of a new academic journey with great enthusiasm and inspiration.
The gathering was graced by chief guest Mr. Raghuram Krishnan, Chief Financial Officer, Adobe, along with University key officials Dr. S. J. Thiruvengadam, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Vidya Shankar Shetty, Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr. Sameena Noor Ahmed Panali, Registrar; Dr. Subhashree Natarajan, Dean, School of Management; Dr. Saroj Sharma, Dean, School of Law; and Dr. Preetha Sanyal, HOD, School of Liberal Arts.
The inauguration ceremony included welcome addresses by Dr. S. J. Thiruvengadam, Dr. Vidya Shankar Shetty, who warmly welcomed the students and gave a brief introduction of the university, its vision, mission and commitment to nurturing future leaders. Mr. Krishnan, in his keynote address, spoke about the essence of leadership skills, the importance of adaptability, and how students can build impactful careers by staying curious, resilient, and ethically grounded and learning corporate perspectives.
The second day included a series of informative workshops designed to acquaint students with academic procedures, institutional resources, and the holistic development of students. The speakers for the day were Dr. R. Jothi Basu, Assistant Dean-Academics; Mr. Chandrashekhar Devidas Ingle, Controller of Examinations; Dr. Sheshadri K.N., Chief Librarian; Ms. Kavitha V., Associate Director - CSIC, Dr. Anu Sukhdev, Dean, Student Affairs; Mr. Pavan Kumar, Head-IT; Dr. R. Lathangi, Student Mentoring Coordinator, PSOM; and Ms. Namratha Jessica, Student Counsellor.
The third day emphasised school vision, program structure, gender sensitisation (POSH), and domain specialisation. The highlight was an industry panel discussion on employability skills, featuring leaders from PMI Bengaluru, LSEG, and Continental Automotive, who shared real-world perspectives on adaptability, leadership, and career growth.
On day four, students visited The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Bengaluru, where they learnt how its people, processes, and purpose nourish over 2 million children daily and support education nationwide—instilling values of social responsibility and nation-building.
Over four days, the orientation program warmly welcomed students into the Presidency family while equipping them to embark on their MBA journey with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
