PSOCSE Organises Workshop on Research Proposal Writing

The School of Computer Science and Engineering (PSCSE), Presidency University, Bengaluru, organised a one-day workshop on "Research Proposal Writing" on 21 July 2026 at the F-Block Seminar Hall-1. The workshop was conducted to strengthen the research capabilities of faculty members, research scholars and postgraduate students by providing practical guidance on developing high-quality research proposals. A total of 38 participants attended the programme, which aimed to foster a stronger research and grant-writing culture within the University.

 

The workshop featured expert sessions by Dr Vijaya Kumar B. P., Professor and Head, Department of AI & DS, Ramaiah Institute of Technology, who introduced the fundamentals and essential components of research proposal writing; Dr Sowmya B. J., Associate Professor, Ramaiah Institute of Technology, who conducted a live demonstration on drafting a proposal using a sample format; and Mr Vivek, Associate Software Engineer at Flexera, who showcased practical tools and techniques for literature review, reference management, collaborative writing and proposal refinement. The sessions combined conceptual learning with hands-on demonstrations, enabling participants to understand the complete proposal development process.

 

The workshop provided participants with valuable insights into proposal structuring, research methodology, and effective writing practices, while enhancing their confidence in preparing competitive research proposals. Faculty members and research scholars appreciated the practical approach, live demonstrations, and industry-relevant tools presented during the sessions. The initiative reaffirmed PSCSE's commitment to promoting research excellence, innovation, and continuous professional development among its academic community.
