Presidency School of Computer Science and Engineering – CORE (PSOCSE) successfully hosted SWE Campus Connect on 4 May 2026 at Presidency University, Bengaluru, marking the official launch of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Chapter at the University. The event brought together distinguished industry professionals, faculty members and students for an engaging morning of learning, inspiration and networking. The launch marks an important step towards empowering women in engineering and technology and connecting students with a global professional community.

 

The inaugural session featured a welcome address by Ms Delsy Jyothi, Assistant Professor, PSOCSE (Core), the traditional lighting of the lamp, and an introduction to SWE by Dr Blessed Prince P., Professor and HOD, PSOCSE. Dr Mohammad Asif addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of gender diversity in engineering and encouraging students to make the most of the opportunities offered through SWE. The invited guests were also formally felicitated during the session.

 

The event featured insightful sessions by Mr Paul Robichaud, Country Head, SWE India and Owner, GPR International Strategies; Ms Meenakshi V. J, Associate Programme Manager, Trane Technologies; and Ms Kanak Sony, Senior Solutions Architect, Waters Corporation. The speakers shared insights on SWE's global outreach, student benefits, mentorship and scholarships, as well as career planning, professional networking and the transition from campus to the corporate world. Interactive discussions enabled students to engage directly with industry professionals and gain practical perspectives on their career journeys.

 

The launch generated strong interest among students from various engineering disciplines, with many expressing enthusiasm to join the new chapter and take up leadership roles. The event also strengthened industry–academia engagement and reaffirmed Presidency University's commitment to gender diversity, inclusion and the professional development of women in engineering and technology. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms Saiqa Khan N., leaving students inspired to actively participate in SWE initiatives and embrace its values of innovation, leadership and collaboration.
