PSOCSE Hosts Workshop on Smart IoT and Embedded Application Design Using Python and Raspberry Pi
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (PSCS), Presidency University, Bengaluru, organised a workshop titled Smart IoT and Embedded Application Design Using Python and Raspberry Pi on 13 October 2026. The offline workshop was convened by Dr Asif Mohamed H B, Associate Professor and Head, and coordinated by Mr H Senthil Kumar and Mrs Sunitha B J, Assistant Professors, PSCS. The session featured Mr Harish N, CTO, and Mr Mahesh Deginal, CEO, of Karunadu Technologies, Bengaluru, as resource persons.
The workshop introduced students to the fundamentals of the Internet of Things (IoT), Raspberry Pi architecture, Python programming for embedded applications, GPIO interfacing, sensor integration and real-world IoT applications. Through practical demonstrations and hands-on activities, the 55 student participants gained insights into developing and testing Raspberry Pi-based embedded systems and IoT solutions.
The workshop received positive feedback for its interactive approach, clear explanations and practical relevance. Participants highlighted the value of the demonstrations in bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and practical implementation. The programme also encouraged interest in advanced hands-on learning in Python, Raspberry Pi, embedded systems and IoT.
