PSOCSE Hosts “Unlocking Kubernetes: A Beginner’s Guide” for Student Training

13-April-2026

The Department of PSOCSE successfully conducted an event titled “Unlocking Kubernetes: A Beginner’s Guide” on 13 April 2026 under the TechLingua Club as part of its student training programme. The session was organised for 6th-semester CSE students, with the aim of introducing them to advanced cloud computing concepts through practical, hands-on learning.

The programme focused on building foundational knowledge in containerisation and cloud-native application management. Students were guided through key topics including Docker basics, Kubernetes architecture, deployments, services, scaling, storage, and monitoring. The training provided a structured pathway from understanding containers to exploring Kubernetes clusters, nodes, pods, and control planes, complemented by real-time demonstrations and a hands-on lab session.

The event aligned closely with the Cloud Computing Lab (CSE2286) curriculum by offering practical exposure to orchestration tools widely used in industry. Participants gained insights into essential cloud concepts such as elasticity, resource optimisation, and service availability, bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world applications in DevOps and microservices.

The primary objective of the session was to demystify Kubernetes for beginners, enhance technical confidence, and encourage students to adopt modern software deployment practices. The interactive format enabled students to actively engage with the tools and develop problem-solving and adaptability skills.

The event was open not only to 6th-semester students of PSOCSE but also to other interested participants keen on learning Kubernetes. By the end of the session, attendees developed a clear understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals and acquired practical skills in deploying, scaling, and monitoring containerised applications.

Overall, the programme proved to be highly beneficial, equipping students with industry-relevant knowledge and strengthening their readiness for internships, projects, and future careers in cloud computing and DevOps.
