PSOCSE Hosts Alumni Talk on Managing External Cyber Risks

The Presidency School of Computer Science and Engineering (Specialisation Division), in association with the Alumni Association of Presidency University, successfully organised “Security Beyond Boundaries: Managing External Cyber Risks” (Alumni Talk–02) on 20 April 2026 from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM at F Block Seminar Hall–01.

 

The session was delivered by Mr Kiran Kumar B, Platform Specialist at ZeroFox and a distinguished alumnus of Presidency University. He shared valuable insights into the evolving cybersecurity landscape, with a focus on external cyber threats, threat intelligence, and risk management practices.

 

The talk covered key topics including modern cyberattack patterns, proactive monitoring strategies, enterprise security practices, and real-world cybersecurity scenarios. The session concluded with an engaging interactive discussion, where students explored industry expectations, emerging trends, and career opportunities in the field of cybersecurity.

The event witnessed active participation from over 120 students and 10 faculty members, making it highly informative and impactful.

 

The primary objectives of the session were to raise awareness about the growing importance of cybersecurity, introduce students to external threat landscapes, and provide insights into industry practices such as threat intelligence and risk management. The initiative also aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world challenges, while guiding students on career pathways in cybersecurity.

 

As an outcome, participants developed a stronger understanding of cybersecurity concepts, gained exposure to real-world challenges and solutions, and enhanced their awareness of proactive security practices. The session also fostered greater interest among students to pursue careers in cybersecurity and encouraged the development of a security-conscious mindset.
