PSOCSE Conducts Smart India Hackathon Roadmap Session

10-April-2026

Presidency School of Computer Science and Engineering (Specialisation Division) successfully organised an insightful session titled “Roadmap for Smart India Hackathon” on 10th April 2026, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at E Block Seminar Hall-3.

The session was coordinated by Dr Abirami A (Associate Professor – PSCS) and Mr Sahabzada Betab Badar (Assistant Professor – PSCS), who guided students on navigating one of India’s most prestigious innovation platforms, the Smart India Hackathon.

The programme focused on providing a comprehensive understanding of the hackathon ecosystem, including its structure, themes, problem statements and evaluation process. Students were introduced to innovation-driven problem-solving, effective team formation strategies, idea conceptualisation and prototype development.

Participants also gained exposure to real-world challenges sourced from industries and government organisations, encouraging them to develop impactful, technology-driven solutions addressing societal and industrial needs.

The session aimed to:

  • Create awareness about the Smart India Hackathon and its opportunities
  • Guide students in selecting relevant problem statements
  • Enhance skills in innovation, teamwork and project development
  • Encourage participation in national-level competitions

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from undergraduate and postgraduate students across engineering disciplines, along with faculty mentors. The session is expected to significantly boost student participation in upcoming hackathons and innovation-driven initiatives.
