PSOCSE Conducts Hands-on Session on Business Intelligence Systems Used in Industry

The oNe-O-oNe Club of the Presidency School of Computer Science and Engineering (PSCS) successfully organised a hands-on session titled “Business Intelligence Systems Used in Industry” on 27 February 2026 at Seminar Hall 1, F Block.

 

The session was conducted by Ms K. Komala Devi, Data Analytics Trainer, who shared valuable insights into how organisations leverage Business Intelligence (BI) tools and data analytics to support strategic decision-making and improve business operations.

 

During the session, students were introduced to key concepts, including:

  • Introduction to Business Intelligence

  • Importance of Data in Industry

  • BI Tools Used in Industry

  • Data Visualisation and Dashboards

  • Real-world Industry Applications

  • Hands-on Demonstration of BI Systems

  • Career Opportunities in Data Analytics

The resource person demonstrated how raw data can be transformed into meaningful insights using BI tools and dashboards. The session was highly interactive, allowing students to engage in discussions and ask questions about real-world industry applications.

 

A total of 100 students participated in the event, gaining practical exposure to data visualisation, analytical techniques, and industry-relevant BI tools.

 

The event successfully enhanced students’ understanding of data-driven decision-making and highlighted the growing importance of Business Intelligence in modern industries.
