PSOCSE Conducts GATE Orientation Session

The Presidency School of Computer Science and Engineering (AI Club) organised a GATE Orientation Session as an academic guidance initiative to support engineering students in planning and preparing effectively for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). The session was delivered by Prof. Anandi Giridharan, Principal Research Scientist, Department of Electrical Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. She provided a comprehensive overview of the GATE examination pattern, syllabus structure and evaluation process, along with subject-wise preparation strategies. The session also covered structured study planning, time management techniques and effective problem-solving approaches essential for strong performance in the examination.

 

Prof. Giridharan further highlighted the wide range of career opportunities available through GATE, including admissions to M.Tech and MS programmes at premier institutions such as IISc and IITs, recruitment in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and pathways in research and higher studies. Common challenges faced by aspirants and practical strategies to overcome them were discussed in detail. The interactive question-and-answer segment enabled students to clarify doubts and gain personalised guidance. Overall, the session provided participants with clarity, strategic direction and enhanced motivation to pursue GATE preparation with confidence and focus.
