PSIC Panel Discussion Spotlight: Women in Technology Shaping the Future

The Presidency School of Information Science, Presidency University, Bengaluru, successfully organised a panel discussion titled “Voices Beyond Boundaries: Women in Technology Shaping the Future” on 16 March 2026.

 

The event was inaugurated by Ms A. M. Nagalakshmi, Outstanding Scientist and Project Director – TRISHNA and Anvesha, U. R. Rao Satellite Centre (ISRO), Bengaluru, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

 

The programme featured an engaging and insightful discussion with distinguished women leaders from industry:

  • Ms Tamra Popli, Global Lead – L&D, Cisco Systems, Bengaluru
  • Ms Vijayalakshmi, Embedded Engineer, Intel Corporation, Bengaluru
  • Ms Priya Murugesan, Project Manager, IBM, Bengaluru
  • Ms Supriya Jena, Associate Partner, IBM Consulting India, Bengaluru

The panellists shared their inspiring professional journeys, perspectives on emerging technologies, and valuable guidance for aspiring professionals in the field.

Students also presented a thought-provoking video titled “A Day Without Women’s Inventions,” highlighting the indispensable role of women’s contributions in shaping modern innovation and everyday life.

 

A special highlight of the event was the demonstration of the top five MCA student projects focused on women’s safety. These projects showcased innovative and practical solutions, earning appreciation from the panellists, who encouraged students to further develop their ideas for real-world impact.

 

The session served as an inspiring platform to promote inclusivity in technology, encourage student participation, and highlight the growing role of women in shaping the future of innovation and digital transformation.
