The Presidency School of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing (PSAIAC), Presidency University, Bengaluru, undertook a strategic visit to the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, to explore collaborative opportunities with nationally renowned Centres of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Healthcare Technologies, and Innovation.

 

The visit reinforced the University's commitment to fostering innovation-driven education and research by building meaningful partnerships that connect academia, research, industry, start-ups, and government. These collaborations support Presidency University's vision of creating a future-ready ecosystem for education, innovation, and interdisciplinary research.

 

The Presidency University delegation comprised Dr Sivaperumal Sampath, Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr Shakkeera L., Dean, Presidency School of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing (PSAIAC); Dr Robin Rohit Vincent, Head, NVIDIA Centre of Excellence, PSAIAC; Dr Sampath A. K., Professor, PSAIAC; and Mr Vinayak R. K., Assistant Professor, PSAIAC.

 

CySecK – Centre of Excellence for Cybersecurity

 

The delegation held productive discussions with the Centre of Excellence for Cybersecurity (CySecK) on establishing a Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence at Presidency University. The discussions focused on developing a dedicated cybersecurity laboratory, launching Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), promoting cybersecurity start-up collaborations, facilitating industry-recognised certifications, and strengthening student skill development in cybersecurity.

 

TANUHA – AI Centre of Excellence in Healthcare

 

The team also interacted with researchers at TANUHA (Translational AI for Networked Universal Healthcare Applications) to gain insights into ongoing research in Artificial Intelligence for healthcare. Discussions explored opportunities for collaboration in AI-enabled healthcare solutions, digital health, translational research, and interdisciplinary innovation aimed at addressing real-world healthcare challenges.

 

Bengaluru Science & Technology (BeST) Cluster

 

The delegation met with representatives of the Bengaluru Science & Technology (BeST) Cluster to explore opportunities for Presidency University to become part of its Hexa-Helical Innovation Network. Discussions focused on collaborative initiatives connecting academia, industry, start-ups, government, investors, and society to accelerate technology translation, innovation, entrepreneurship, and research commercialisation.

• A proposal to establish a Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence at Presidency University.
