PSAIAC Signs MoU with NASSCOM to Advance Emerging Technology Skills
The Presidency School of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing (PSAIAC), Presidency University, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the NASSCOM IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council (SSC NASSCOM), marking a significant milestone in strengthening emerging technology education, digital skilling, and industry–academia collaboration.
The NASSCOM IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council is the skill standards-setting body for India's IT and IT-enabled Services industry. Through its flagship platform, FutureSkills Prime, developed in collaboration with the Government of India and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), SSC NASSCOM aims to build India's digital talent ecosystem and position the country as a global hub for emerging technology talent.
The MoU reflects a shared commitment between Presidency University and SSC NASSCOM to promote industry-relevant skill development initiatives, certification programmes, faculty upskilling, and experiential learning opportunities for students and faculty in emerging technologies and professional skills.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by the University's distinguished academic leaders, including Dr Thiruvengadam, Vice Chancellor; Dr Sivaperumal S., Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr Venkateswaran S., Registrar; Dr Shakkeera L., Dean – PSAIAC; Dr Anandaraj S. P., Head of Department – PSAIAC; Dr Pravinth Raja, Head of Department – PSAIAC; Dr Robin Rohit Vincent, Head, NVIDIA Centre of Excellence – PSAIAC; Dr Zafar Ali Khan N., Head of Department – PSAIAC; and faculty members.
Representing SSC NASSCOM were Mr Karan A. Singh, Head – Government Relations and Stakeholder Engagement, NASSCOM, and Mr Harsha S., Driving Member/Partner Success – Talent and Skill Development Initiatives, IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council, NASSCOM.
The initiative was successfully coordinated by Mr Likhith S. R., Assistant Professor – PSAIAC, and Ms Rakheeba Taseen, Assistant Professor – PSAIAC.
The partnership establishes a collaborative framework to promote emerging technology skilling, digital fluency, and access to the FutureSkills Prime learning ecosystem. Students and faculty will benefit from industry-recognised certification programmes, foundation and advanced skilling initiatives, faculty development programmes, workshops, seminars, expert talks, diagnostic assessments, digital badging, internships, career development opportunities, industry mentoring, and collaborative learning initiatives.
The collaboration aims to enhance industry-relevant technical competencies, promote continuous self-paced learning in emerging technologies, strengthen digital fluency and professional skills, encourage participation in certification programmes, improve student employability, and support India's vision of becoming a global digital talent hub through innovation-driven industry–academia collaboration.
The partnership is expected to increase student participation in FutureSkills Prime initiatives, strengthen technical, analytical, and professional competencies, provide greater exposure to emerging technologies and industry trends, improve employability and industry readiness, enhance faculty capabilities through structured upskilling programmes, and contribute to the development of a future-ready digital learning ecosystem within the University.
This MoU represents another important milestone in Presidency University's commitment to academic excellence, digital transformation, industry collaboration, and future-ready skill development aligned with the evolving needs of the technology sector.
