PSAIAC Signs MoU with CySecK to Advance Cybersecurity Education and Skills
The Presidency School of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing (PSAIAC), Presidency University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre of Excellence for Cybersecurity (CySecK) on 12 June 2026 at the VC Board Room, Bengaluru. The partnership marks a significant step towards strengthening cybersecurity education, skill development, and industry–academia collaboration.
CySecK, an initiative supported by the Department of Electronics, IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka, and operationalised by the Indian Institute of Science through the Foundation for Science, Innovation and Development (FSID), aims to build a robust cybersecurity ecosystem across Karnataka through structured skilling initiatives, awareness programmes, and industry-oriented training.
The MoU reflects a shared commitment between Presidency University and CySecK to promote cybersecurity awareness, advanced technical training, faculty development, and experiential learning opportunities for students and faculty.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by the University's distinguished academic leaders, including Dr Thiruvengadam, Vice Chancellor; Dr Sivaperumal S., Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr Venkateswaran S., Registrar; Dr Shakkeera L., Dean – PSAIAC; Dr Anandaraj S. P., Head of Department – PSAIAC; Dr Pravinth Raja, Head of Department – PSAIAC; Dr Robin Rohit Vincent, Head, NVIDIA Centre of Excellence – PSAIAC; Dr Zafar Ali Khan N., Head of Department – PSAIAC; and faculty members.
Representing CySecK were Mr Ranjeet Mishra, Centre Head; Mr Shivaling Salakki, Programme Director; and Mr Anand M. R., Programme Director, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthening cybersecurity education and institutional partnerships.
The initiative was successfully coordinated by Mr Likhith S. R., Assistant Professor – PSAIAC, and Ms Rakheeba Taseen, Assistant Professor – PSAIAC.
Under the MoU, the two organisations will collaborate to deliver cybersecurity-focused MOOCs, Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), finishing schools, boot camps, and Capture the Flag (CTF) programmes. The partnership will also facilitate faculty development, technical upskilling, cybersecurity awareness initiatives, expert-led workshops, curriculum enhancement, industry-oriented learning, and co-branded events to expand the reach of cybersecurity education.
The collaboration aims to enhance students' cybersecurity knowledge and practical exposure through industry-relevant training, certification opportunities, competitions, boot camps, and awareness programmes. It will also strengthen faculty expertise through specialised FDPs and expert sessions while fostering innovation, research, and collaborative learning in emerging cybersecurity technologies.
The partnership is expected to increase student participation in cybersecurity training and competitions, enhance the technical and analytical capabilities of students and faculty, provide greater exposure to real-world cybersecurity practices, improve industry readiness, strengthen industry–academia partnerships, and contribute to the development of a sustainable cybersecurity learning ecosystem within the University.
This MoU marks another significant milestone in Presidency University's commitment to academic excellence, industry collaboration, and cybersecurity education, preparing students with the knowledge and skills required to address the evolving challenges of the digital world.
