PSAIAC Organises Five-Day FDP on Java Programming and Application Development

The Department of Cybersecurity and Intelligence Systems, Presidency School of Artificial Intelligence & Advanced Computing (PSAIAC), Presidency University, Bengaluru, successfully organised a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Java Programming for Problem Solving and Application Development" from 6 to 10 July 2026 under the aegis of the Electronics and ICT Academy, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna.

 

The FDP witnessed the participation of 94 faculty members, providing a collaborative platform for knowledge sharing and professional development. Sponsored by NIT Patna, the programme featured a series of expert-led sessions covering both foundational and advanced Java programming concepts through interactive lectures, hands-on coding exercises, and practical demonstrations.

 

The programme covered a comprehensive range of topics, including Java fundamentals, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), arrays and strings, inheritance, polymorphism, abstract classes, interfaces, file handling, streams, and exception handling. The sessions combined theoretical concepts with live coding demonstrations, practical exercises, and interactive discussions, enabling participants to gain hands-on experience in developing robust Java applications.

 

The FDP was delivered by distinguished academicians and industry experts:

The programme significantly enhanced participants' technical expertise in Java programming while equipping them with effective pedagogical approaches for delivering industry-relevant programming courses. Faculty members gained practical insights into problem-solving techniques, software development practices, and classroom implementation strategies, further strengthening their ability to mentor students.
