Event Overview

 

The Department of Cyber Security and Intelligent Systems, Presidency School of Artificial Intelligence & Advanced Computing, successfully organised Cyber Hunt 2026: Capture the Flag (CTF) Bootcamp on 14 August 2026.

 

The bootcamp was a hands-on cybersecurity learning programme designed to provide participants with practical exposure to ethical hacking, cyber defence, vulnerability assessment, digital forensics, and real-world cybersecurity challenges.

 

The programme was graced by Mr Ranjeet Mishra, Centre Head – CySecK, as the guest. His valuable insights into the evolving cybersecurity landscape, industry expectations, and the importance of practical skills added significant value to the programme.

 

Hands-on Cybersecurity Learning

 

The bootcamp provided participants with opportunities to explore and work on practical challenges across various cybersecurity domains, including:

• Web Application Security

• Network Security

• Cryptography

• Digital Forensics

• Reverse Engineering

• OSINT

• Malware Analysis

• Binary Exploitation

• Vulnerability Assessment

• Ethical Hacking and Cyber Defence

The CTF-based approach encouraged participants to analyse problems, identify vulnerabilities, apply appropriate techniques, and develop solutions in a practical learning environment.

 

Bridging Academia and Industry

 

The programme complemented academic learning in areas such as Cyber Security, Computer Networks, Cryptography, Ethical Hacking, Digital Forensics, Network Security, Secure Software Development, and Operating Systems.

 

By combining theoretical concepts with practical challenges, the bootcamp helped participants understand how cybersecurity principles are applied in real-world scenarios and industry environments.
