The Presidency School of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing (PSAIAC), Department of AI & Robotics, successfully organised a Faculty Development Workshop titled "AI Unlocked: Empowering Educators for the Intelligent Classroom" on 16 July 2026 at E Block Seminar Hall 3, Presidency University, Bengaluru.

 

The workshop was conducted under the leadership of Dr Zafar Ali Khan, Head, Department of AI & Robotics, and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 40 faculty members from across the University.

 

The programme featured expert sessions by Ms Rekha Nair, CEO and Founder, AltEdge Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and Mr Gurmeet Singh, AI Specialist and Technology Trainer, AltEdge Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The resource persons shared valuable insights into the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in education and demonstrated practical approaches to integrating AI into teaching, research, and academic workflows.

 

Participants explored a wide range of contemporary AI concepts, including Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, AI-powered teaching assistants, AI research tools, and agentic AI. Through live demonstrations and interactive hands-on activities, faculty members learned how AI can enhance lesson planning, content creation, assessment design, research writing, literature reviews, and classroom engagement while promoting responsible and ethical AI practices.

 

The workshop emphasised the importance of adopting AI-enabled pedagogical strategies to create personalised learning experiences and improve academic productivity. Faculty members also gained practical experience in designing effective prompts, using AI tools to accelerate research, and leveraging intelligent automation to streamline routine academic tasks.

 

The event concluded with an interactive feedback session, during which participants appreciated the practical nature of the workshop and expressed enthusiasm for more advanced AI-focused faculty development initiatives. The programme successfully reinforced PSAIAC's commitment to fostering innovation, digital transformation, and future-ready education through the responsible integration of Artificial Intelligence.
