Presidency University celebrated the 79th Independence Day with pride, inspiration, and cultural splendour. The event was graced by the esteemed guest, Padma Bhushan Dr. A. Surya Prakash, journalist and author. Dr. Nissar Ahmed, Hon'ble Chancellor, along with the chief guest other key university officials, hoisted the national flag, which was followed by a grand NCC parade, which set the patriotic tone for the day. In his address Dr. Prakash resonated deeply, reminding us of our nation’s journey, values, and vision for the future.

The celebration continued with a vibrant display of cultural performances, music, a fashion show & dance that beautifully showcased India’s rich diversity and heritage. Every performance was a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of freedom and unity.

This year, under the official theme of “𝗡𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗕𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁” – embodying the vision of building a developed nation by 2047 under the 𝗩𝗶𝗸𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗕𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 – the celebrations were more than an event; they were a reaffirmation of our commitment to putting the nation first in all that we do.
