78th Independence Day

Presidency University commemorated the 78th Independence Day with great fervor. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Rakesh Singh, ex-chairman of the Bengaluru Development Authority and former managing director of Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd., who served as the chief guest. He, alongside honorable chancellor Dr. Nissar Ahmed and Dr. Anubha Singh, Vice Chancellor, ceremoniously hoisted the flag.

In his inspiring address, Mr. Singh emphasized the importance of independence and urged the younger generation to strive for the advancement of our nation. Dr. Nissar Ahmed, Chancellor, and Dr. Anubha Singh, Vice Chancellor, in their speeches paid tribute to the sacrifices of all who fought for the freedom of our great nation and extended their best wishes to the students and faculty. The university also launched the inaugural edition of ISR Digest, which details the initiatives undertaken by the University in the five key thematic areas: social service, education, skilling, healthcare, and nature preservation.

The event proceeded with the parade performed by the NCC cadets, which enhanced the patriotic spirit. The students also celebrated India’s rich cultural diversity by presenting colorful attire representing regions from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Kutch to Kohima. The celebrations featured patriotic-themed dance and musical performances, showcasing the pride and love for our beloved Bharat. As the event concluded, the spirit of Independence Day resonated through every heart, inspiring all to contribute to the continued growth and prosperity of India.
