On the occasion of Librarians’ Day, commemorating the 134th Birth Anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India, the Presidency University Library had organized an Online Quiz Competition to all Faculty Members, staff, Research Scholars, and Students of the University.

 

Online Quiz Competition conducted as part of the Librarians’ Day Celebration on 12 August 2026, has received an overwhelming response of 564 participants.

 

For determining the winners, the following criteria were adopted:

• Only participants who secured a perfect score of 20/20 were considered.
• The participants who attempted from multiple IDs are not considered.
• The qualifying participants were segregated into four categories:
  

  1. Faculty Members

  2. Staff Members

  3. Research Scholars

  4. Students

• Among the participants who secured 20/20, response time was considered as the next criterion for identifying the winners.

 

The quiz was conducted using a Google Form featuring a mix of emojis, library resource queries, and general knowledge questions, with a 10-minute time limit. Although many participants scored well out of the 20 questions, several exceeded the time limit. Ultimately, those who completed the quiz accurately in the shortest time secured top spots on the winners' list.

 

The organizers commended all participants for their sportsmanship, congratulated the winners, and encouraged everyone to join future library events.
