08-April-2026

On 08 April 2026, an NSS unit visit was organized to Sri Sai Prasanthi Old Age Home under the Ministry of Youth Affairs’ Adopt a Senior Citizen Care Home initiative. A group of 22 enthusiastic volunteers from Presidency University participated in this meaningful activity, organized by NSS Unit 7. The initiative was led by student coordinators Vidhyanshi Jain and Arjunan G, under the guidance of NSS Officer Mr. Sherin P. Shaji and the overall supervision of NSS Programme Coordinator Ms. Renuka Bhagwat.

The visit aimed to spread joy, companionship, and emotional support among the elderly residents. Volunteers conducted engaging activities such as group games, creating a cheerful and lively atmosphere. They also spent quality time interacting with the residents, listening to their stories and sharing meaningful conversations that fostered emotional connections and a sense of belonging.

As part of the initiative, the volunteers donated essential items, including 30 kg of rice, 15 kg of dal, and 12 litres of cooking oil, to support the daily needs of the home. The visit proved to be a deeply enriching experience, reinforcing the values of empathy, respect, and social responsibility, while embodying the NSS motto, “Not Me But You.”
