NSS National Integration Camp Participation

22-February-2026

The NSS Cell of Presidency University actively participated in the National Integration Camp (NIC) organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, Baripada, Odisha, from 22 to 28 February 2026. The camp brought together over 200 NSS volunteers and Programme Officers from 15 states, providing a vibrant platform for cultural exchange, leadership development, and national unity. Team Karnataka comprised eight students, including four from Presidency University—Vishwanath Joshi, Kaushal Kumar Singh, Suraj Shanbhag, and Vasu Verma—alongside participants from a women’s university. The camp aimed to promote the spirit of unity in diversity through meaningful engagement, interaction, and shared experiences among participants from varied cultural backgrounds.

Throughout the camp, volunteers took part in a wide range of activities, including seminars, yoga sessions, cultural rallies, competitions, and awareness programmes on topics such as cyber security, fire safety, and social responsibility. The Karnataka team showcased their cultural heritage through vibrant performances, including folk dances and Hulivesha, while also engaging in community initiatives such as cleanliness drives and village visits. Insightful sessions by distinguished speakers and exposure visits, including to the hometown of the President of India, enriched the learning experience. Overall, the camp provided an excellent opportunity for participants to develop teamwork, leadership skills, and a deeper appreciation of India’s cultural diversity.
