L&D's AI Business Models Workshop for Student Innovators
As part of the AI for Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and the broader engagements of the IndiaAI Impact Summit 2026, the Institution's Innovation Council, in collaboration with the Department of Learning & Development, conducted a focused workshop on AI-Integrated Business Models for B.Tech students actively developing technology ventures and innovation-led start-ups.
Facilitated by Mr Debmalya Bhattacharjee, the session explored the critical intersection between technological innovation and commercial viability. Rather than viewing AI solely as a technological capability, the workshop examined how AI can be embedded within customer value propositions, revenue models and long-term competitive strategies.
Designed for students already engaged in solving real-world problems and building entrepreneurial ventures, the workshop focused on practical aspects of AI commercialisation, including monetisation frameworks, customer acquisition strategies and the operational challenges associated with scaling AI-enabled solutions.
The interactive discussions highlighted an important reality of innovation: even the most sophisticated technology requires a sustainable business model to achieve meaningful market impact. Participants gained valuable insights into transforming technical ideas into viable, scalable enterprises.
By equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with both technological and business perspectives, initiatives such as this contribute to developing the next generation of AI-driven innovators and founders, supporting India's growing leadership in the AI ecosystem.
