L&D Drives Experiential Learning Through Large-Scale OBL Programme

The Department of Learning and Development at Presidency University successfully conducted an extensive Outbound Learning (OBL) Programme from 14 January 2026 to 6 February 2026, aimed at promoting experiential learning through activity-based engagement.

 

As part of this initiative, a total of 66 sections were completed, reaching over 4,000 students across various schools of the University.

 

The OBL programme was designed to enhance essential life and professional skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership, problem-solving, adaptability, coordination and active participation through engaging outdoor activities and structured debriefing sessions.

 

Students actively participated in activities such as:

  • Command Circle Energiser – improving attentiveness and responsiveness
  • Relay Run – Team Sprint – strengthening teamwork and leadership
  • Fish and Fisherman – enhancing strategic thinking and collaboration
  • Signal Jammer – building communication and adaptability
  • Lights… Camera… Action! – increasing engagement and alertness
  • Dynamic Ball Transfer Challenge – improving coordination and listening skills
  • Human Shape Challenge – encouraging problem-solving and teamwork

Each activity was followed by debriefing sessions, where students reflected on their experiences and connected the lessons learnt to real-life academic and professional situations.

The initiative witnessed enthusiastic student participation and significantly contributed to improving collaboration, communication and group dynamics, reinforcing Presidency University’s commitment to holistic student development through experiential learning methodologies.
